Fantastic stay! Ross is a great host, very quick to respond and so hospitable. Beautiful houses with huge en suite bedrooms and insanely comfortable beds! A wonderful place to have a chilled weekend with fabulous living rooms and log fires. Thank you Ross!

We used the house for my 40th get together, family & friends. The location was great for a getaway and for touristic trips too. The house was fab and we all felt very comfortable. En suites for each room a big bonus. All guests enjoyed their stay.

Excellent place to stay! The house was spotless and the living room/kitchen were great communal spaces. Very handy having en suites in every bedroom too. The local village pub is 2 minutes walk away and was great for food/drink. Thanks!

Brilliant accommodation in a lovely community. Our family (8 people) had a wonderful Christmas in the Coaching Inn. The house was very clean and the large kitchen allowed us to cook our Christmas roast with all the trimmings with no problems. Ross and Charlene had kindly decorated the house with a Christmas tree and lights, and with the fireplace we were very cosy and relaxed throughout our stay. All four bedrooms have their own ensuites, with an extra powder room for good measure, so our two families were never in each other's way. One member of our party has limited mobility, but the spacious rooms and ensuites and the one-storey design of the Inn allowed her to move around the accommodation without issue. The town of Thornhill is lovely and the locals are fantastic people, who showed us great kindness and hospitality. The Lion and Unicorn (a pub only a few minutes walk down the road) is great for food and conversations. If you happen to stay over Christmas, Fiona, the publican will welcome you into the community's Christmas tradition of mulled wine and mince tarts on Christmas day, as she did for our family. We loved our stay in Thornhill and recommend Ross and Charlene's place to anyone (especially groups and families...and especially over Christmas) Parking Note: be aware that the entrance to the parking area around the back is very tight. Most vehicles will fit but one of our vehicles (a van) didn't. Plenty of parking on the street and around the town though.

We had a lovely time at Ross and Charlene's house over the Christmas period. The house was clean, cosy and comfortable for all 7 of us and could potentially sleep more. The house really felt like a home and decorated and furnished beautifully. Local pub and shop on the same street was also helpful. Perfect for a quiet weekend away. Only recommendation for Ross and Charlene would be to leave an instruction booklet for guests for things such as how to work the heating, where to find things, particularly in our case the logs for the fire, ironing board and local takeaways etc. However, when we contacted the hosts about the heating we had a super quick response and they were extremely helpful throughout our whole stay. Other than these things, our stay was wonderful and would definitely stay again and recommend to others! Thanks Ross and Charlene

This place is amazing, if you are lucky enough to get the chance to stay here you will not regret it. The space is perfect for large groups and families. The living rooms are cosy with their real fires and big sofas, kitchens well equipped with everything you could possibly need and the bedrooms are all relaxing and comfortable. The whole space was really clean. Plenty of parking space out the back as well.
